Care

Care:

We offer residential nursing care, along with respite care, convalesence care, and have expertise in delivering dedicated dementia care, and exceptional end of life care.

Residential Nursing Care

Care is led by a highly qualified and experienced Director of Nursing who oversees each aspect of what we do, aided by the management team.

They are supported in delivering quality care by a team of nurses and care assistants.

The household team, activities coordinators, catering and reception staff ensure that all supporting care is delivered to an exceptional standard.

Every team member at Woodlawn Manor has a passion for they do – and this translates into extraordinary care and attention and a real personal interest in residents.

End Of Life Care

In Woodlawn Manor we recognise that the end is as important as the beginning or the journey itself.

Planning for End of Life Care begins in Woodlawn Manor when you are admitted, our dedicated staff will spend time getting to know you and what is important to you. This knowledge will allow us to ensure that we are providing care in line with your wishes when the time comes.

End of Life Care will be delivered in a person-centred manner and so is uniquely adapted for each resident.

End of Life Care is provided not only for the resident but also their family, this time is precious, but also painful and we will care for you as well as your loved ones during these final days.

Convalesence Care.

Convalescent care is understood to be the recuperation to health from either an illness, accident, surgery or other medical treatment or following a stroke. It can be usual for people to require another period to fully recover once they have been discharged from the hospital or medical facility offering initial treatment. Woodlawn Manor welcomes those who are recovering from an injury, surgery or a procedure. We all need help from time to time and whether recuperating from heart surgery or learning to mobilse with a new hip or knee we aim to develop a personal care plan for you, which can include physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and other inputs as required.

Sometimes a little time might be required to learn to adjust to a new reality, as in after a stroke, we will work with you, helping you to adjust and work on developing the mobility and strength to complete your chores and chosen activities on your return to home.

Respite Care.

Here in Woodlawn Manor we believe that respite care should be more like a holiday than a trip to the dentist.

We will meet with you before admission and prepare with you and your family for your time with us. We will have a full activity program designed specifically for you, with your likes, interests, needs and any requirements catered for.

We will also have discussed your dietary likes and dislikes and prepare a meal plan for your time with us, however long that may be.

Dementia Care

We have a great deal of experience in providing nursing care to people who are living with dementia, many of our staff have previously worked in dementia specific homes.

Our goal is always to help you live your most independent life whilst engaging with activities that you enjoy. We wish to get to know you as a person, your loves, your likes and your limitations, so that we can design the plan best suited to helping you. We can also provide education, support and advice to families who have a resident living with dementia.
